Continuing Care Assistant/Personal Care Worker, Permanent Part-time
Former college teacher (middle - aged female) with progressive multiple sclerosis is seeking experienced part-time Personal Care Workers to assist with activities of daily living such as mobility (transfers, positioning, ROM), personal care, and home care. Position is located in Clayton Park, Halifax.
Permanent Part-time
Hours of Work:
Tuesday, Thursday, Friday , Saturday , and Sunday suppers: 4:00pm to 6:30pm
Friday , Saturday , and Sunday evenings: 8:30pm to 10:00pm

Qualifications: Personal care aid experience and formal CCA training or equivalent required. Caregivers must: • be able to LIFT 30kg while performing pivot transfers (Hoyer Lift available if needed) • be able to perform duties using proper body mechanics • be fluent in English and be able to understand and follow written and verbal instructions in English • be reliable, punctual, dependable, trustworthy, versatile, and flexible • be able to work independently • have valid criminal record and vulnerability checks
Description of Duties: 1. Assisting with mobility by lifting, transferring, positioning 2. Performing ROM and strength training exercises as directed by physiotherapist 3. Assisting with dressing/undressing, bathing/showering, toileting, grooming, and medications 4. Performing light household duties including meal preparation
