Qualifications and Relevant Experience
- Completed Personal Support Worker certificate program at triOS College and passed the NACC exam for PSW certification
- First Aid, CPR Level C, and WHMIS certified; completed vulnerable sector screening and criminal record check within the past 6 months
- Participated in the Champlain Hospice Palliative Care program and Taking Ownership in Palliative Care training
- Hold Food Safety, Covid-19 Awareness for Foodservice, and valid driver's license with clean abstract
- Passionate about helping people with excellent customer service skills and ability to adapt care to meet changing needs
- Provide personal care assistance with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, dressing, feeding, and toileting
- Collaborate with care teams to deliver high quality, person-centered care aligned with resident preferences
- Engage residents with companionship and recreational activities to lift their spirits and improve wellbeing
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, dishes, and changing linens to maintain tidy living spaces
- Keen observation skills to monitor resident status and report any changes to care staff
- Maintain detailed records on services provided and resident health status per protocols
- Share responsibility for proper use and care of equipment and resident belongings
