Ben is a 2015 grade Canadian gelding. Stands 15.3hh and is built like a tank.
This boy is my go to trail horse. Loves bushwhacking. Point him at anything and he’ll plow his way through. Super sturdy and surefooted. Climbs up some crazy hill sides like it’s nothing.
Absolute pro at ponying. He teaches all my young ones to be ponied. Knows how to keep the horses from passing him and keeps them in check all on his own. All my training horses get ponied by him. He’s not the fastest, but he tries his best galloping with the young racehorses too.
Loves water! Swims in the pond. Ridden him bareback all over the place. Goes English and western. Halter or a bridle. Done a little bit of bridleless. Chases cows. Knows how to sidle up to anything for mounting. Has done some arena work focusing on dressage. He’ll do the work, but his preference is definitely to the trails. His ideal home is someone that wants to take him out exploring in the mountains. He is a sensitive guy, so likes at least an intermediate rider.
Easy to catch, ties, trailers, clips, bathes. Been hauled out to ride plenty and is perfect. Very easy keeper. UTD on everything. Beautiful barefoot hooves. No vices. Lives in a big herd. Super easy guy to have around. Big personality and a barn favourite.
