Quarter Horse Mare — part board

Meet Sophie, an 18-year-old, 15hh Quarter Horse mare with a heart of gold. I’ve owned her since she was 3, and she’s been a part of everything from barrel racing to parades. Sophie is: • A retired barrel horse with a level head—only gets “hot” when working barrels • Incredibly smooth to ride, responds more to leg than hand • Not spooky—she gives clear signs before reacting, and even then it’s usually just a side step or tiny jump • Beginner/kid-safe and adapts beautifully to her rider’s level • A perfect confidence builder for adult riders getting back in the saddle or looking for a trustworthy partner She’s been ridden in Christmas parades, carried beginners and kids, and is just an all-around good soul. That said, I’m looking for an adult rider—someone experienced or returning to riding—who will appreciate her wisdom and work ethic. I’m happy to join you for rides at first to help you get to know her and offer some pointers. While proof of rider’s insurance is preferred, it’s not required.
