Brandy has lived freely on our little farm for 7.5 yrs (she is now just turning 9) with a mix of farm animal friends.
She came to us with a young mare horse and they had a love hate relationship. At some point, the pony was not allowed to play in the field or to socialize with us. She gained weight and experienced pain in her hooves.
After re-homing the mare a year and a half ago and pairing her with 2 mini horses, she is much happier.
She is still cautious / uncomfortable.
We have had a farrier look after her hooves every 6-8 weeks over the past 3 years which will be important to maintain.
She can not be ridden or bred but if someone would like a companion pony to care for & love, she may be the right fit.
I wouldn't consider her a rescue pony as she is well cared for here but, we desperately need to downsize due to a health concern and I'm looking for other options than the sale barn.
