According to Greek mythology, Hestia is the goddess of the hearth, home life, and family, who received the first offering of any sacrifice that took place in a house and had no public worship. In Roman mythology, Vesta is similar.
Its name means "house and fireplace": its home and its occupants. The Home symbolizes the alliance between the colonies and their mother cities.
Estia is the eldest daughter of Rea and Saturn, sister of Zeus, Hera, Hades of Neptune, and Demeter. Initially, it was part of the Olympian gods, but later it offered the throne to Dionysus in order for the skirmishes and disputes to end. He then took care of the sacred flame at Mount Olympus. Her altars included every family home.
