Prairie Handstitched Vintage Wool Quilt

My aunt made many quilts on her farm in the 1960's and 70's using wool from her sheep. This is one of them. She learned this very important skill from her mother as many early prairie homes were poorly insulated using wood stoves for heat. The bedrooms were often chilly. She cleaned and carded the wool, shaped it into dense batts and hand stitched the batts between cheesecloth. This is a super warm quilt and measures 80 inches by 62 inches. It was just cleaned, has always had a quilt cover and has mostly been in storage. It comes from a non smoking home with no pets. Available for pick up in Sylvan Lake at your convenience.
