I Buy Your Silver - Fair Prices - Honest Weight - Courteous Service
- No haggling, no lowballing. My first price is my best price.
Questions: Q: How much do you pay? A: 90% of the daily London Silver Fix Spot Price.
Q: How do I calculate that? A: You'll need 2 websites. Kitcosilver and XE. The Kitcosilver site shows today's London Silver Fix price on the left side of their website. This is in US Dollars per troy oz. Once you have that you visit XE to check today's currency exchange from USD to CDN to find out what the spot price is in Canadian funds. Multiply that number by 0.8325 to find out what I pay for sterling silver.
Q: That sounds hard. Can you just tell me what you'll pay? A: Sure. The price of silver changes daily. Please contact me and I'll give you a quote with current market pricing.
Q: What about coins? A: There are many coin dealers who will pay over spot price based on the condition of your coin. If you have a collectible coin in mint condition please see them. If you have silver coins that have been circulated I'll offer a fair price based on the silver content.
Q: What about plated sterling? A: Sorry, not interested. Anything marked "EPNS", "EP COPPER", or "PLATE" is not solid sterling silver. If it sticks to a magnet it's plated steel.
Q: What about flatware and holloware? A: Candlesticks and knives usually have weight inside them or parts that are not sterling silver. If you want to sell these as scrap I'll have to destroy them to give you an honest silver weight. You'll know exactly how much silver is in the piece before I buy it, but it won't be a useful piece anymore. Spoons, plates, bowls do not usually suffer from this problem and I can give you a price without destroying them.
Q: Do you have a minimum lot size? A: Nope. Grams or kilos, I'll work out pricing for you.
Q: Buyer X offered me a better price. Will you beat that? A: Nope. I'm not here to haggle, I'm here to give you the best price and best selling experience I can for your sterling silver. If you can get a better price elsewhere, good for you. Please take it to them.
Q: What about pieces with stones? A: I don't pay extra for stones. There are precious stone dealers who will buy your loose stones; if the stones in your jewellery are valuable, please take your loose stones to them. If you have a little bit of non-sterling in your jewellery such as stones, glass, enamel, or other material, I may ignore that and pay you the full weight of the piece. If there is more than a little, we'll talk about removing that material before weighing it. We'll proceed on a case-by-case basis.
Q: What about gold? A: I can purchase your gold as well. 90% of spot price as per the London Gold Fix price found on the Kitco website. I'll test your gold for its purity and work out pricing for you.
Q: Where are you located? A: I'm where you are. I can visit you in Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph, Stratford or anywhere in between.
Q: Do you pay cash? A: I pay by cheque, PayPal or e-Transfer direct to your bank account. It's safe and convenient for both of us.
Q: But I need cash in hand NOW and can't wait for the bank. Is there anything you can do for me? A: You may want to consider a bricks-and mortar cash-for-gold place or a pawn shop. They won't pay as well as I do, but you'll have cash in your hands in a few minutes.
