Eatons Canada sold a house brand watch called Solar. These watches used very high end components at a reasonable price. Some of them even had Rolex movements. NOT ALL of their movements were stamped SOLAR as they began to obtain their watch movements from various swiss manufacturers. According to my jeweller, this watch has an Ebauche movement and has a 305 self winding 30 Jewel movement, adjusted 3 ways D1172.
This watch is a 1950's model with an outstanding looking dial which shows off the red tipped sweep second hand and is signed Solar, 30 jewells, self winding and shock resisting. The date window is at the 3 o'clock position.
The case is in good original condition showing usual wear for its' age. Some wear on reverse side but not seen while being worn. This watch has not been polished or buffed. The signed stainless steel back is in excellent condition showing only very slight signs of wear. The watch case measures 40mm lug tip to lug tip and 33mm wide. The watch comes with a new black side stiched Corfam handcrafted band by DuPont.
This watch runs great!!
