Seiko 7A28-6000 aka.The Bishop. Collectible Giugiaro Design.
- Jewellery Type
It looks like plastic and contains a quartz movement. It is not plastic, it has a special movement, and it has a great design. This was actually the first analog quartz chronograph ever made, predating the better-known Swiss Jaeger-LeCoultre “Mechaquartz” Calibre 630 and Frederic Piguet 1270 “Meca-Quartz” by a few years. It’s a well-made all-metal jeweled movement with individual stepper motors for each hand. And if that is not enough it was designed by a great, well-known designer: Giugiaro. Guigiaro designed various watches for Seiko in the mid 1980’s. Yes indeed. This watch is an over 30 year-old design icon.It contains the 7A28 quartz chronograph movement with 1/10 seconds measurement. It was produced in 1983.The 7A28-6000 is a great watch to wear, and the red and black colors are stunning. The asymmetrical case placement relative to the bracelet is a true eye-catcher. And then there is the black PVD material. A great combination. This was not the only watch designed by Guigiaro design: It is part of a ‘Speedmaster’ series. And now for the best part: The nickname for the 7A28-6000 comes from the 1986 movie Aliens. It was not Sigorney Weaver who wore this watch. The nickname for the 7A28-6000 is the Bishop. Bishop was this guy (actually an android) in the movie:Watch has been serviced by Seiko. Have paperwork for it. No PayPal payments accepted.
