Fertilized hatching eggs
Fertilized eggs of various breeds available anytime :)
I have a few groups, most of which are running together right now, so I cannot guarantee any purebreds at this time.
Group one: Icelandic hens, one Norwegian Jaerhon hen, Icelandic roosters, Aracauna hens and Aracauna roosters: dominant roosters are the Aracauna, so the likelihood of purebred Aracauna is extremely high. The Norwegian Jaerhon/Icelandic cross roo does service a lady from this group on occasion. Offspring will be excellent foragers, thrifty with feed, and - if hatched from the Icelandic eggs - excellent layers! These smaller, compact birds also provide a decent carcass that is worth the effort to process. Possible broody instincts, more so with the Aracauna, who are excellent mothers. $40/dz
Group two: Black, BBS and mottled Cochin: one black, one BBS and one mottled rooster over two black, one blue, one BBS and 3 mottled hens. The cochins are classed as a dual-purpose, but they are best as gentle pets who produce an abundance of eggs when they are not broody. They are EXCELLENT mothers, and - in my experience - will take in orphans that aren't even the same age as their own chicks! The Cochin is a great choice for someone who wants a self-perpetuating flock but isn't keen on silkies or other traditionally maternal breeds. Likelihood of purebreds is good, but cannot be guaranteed. $40/dz
Group 3: mixed large dual-purpose: hens are 3 Chantecler, 2 mutts that I cannot figure out who they came from, but both are phenomenal layers of olive eggs, two black hens that have australorp, and/or ameraucana and/or black copper Marans, one silver Iowa Blue and one ameracauna-derived EE; roosters are Chantecler (dominant) and Barred rock, but the Norwegian Jaerhon/Icelandic cross roo and possibly the Aracauna roos might be sneaking in a bit of business on occasion, lol! $20/dz
Chicks are currently by pre-order only.
