Ameraucana’s come is several recognized colors. BBS stand for Blue, Black and Splash. BBS day old chicks are just one of the few we offer. We also have a mixed group of wheaten, blue wheaten and lavender as well as a group of Isabella’s. These friendly dual-purpose heritage birds that lay beautiful blue large size eggs of 3-4 a week or 150-200 per year. They originated in the USA around 1970. They have a pea size comb with pretty fluffy cheeks. They are great forgers and are extremely healthy breed. They can tolerate the heat and the cold, They are slow growers and late layers around 24 weeks. Hen weigh 5.5lbs and Roo’s 6.5lbs.
