OUR PASSION: Is Livestock Guardian Dogs (LGD) & Back to Roots Farm Living....
OUR PURPOSE: To Breed Happy, Healthy Lgd's (NOT For Show But For Purpose)..... We also breed Collectively amoungst us: Goats (different breeds, just ask) Chickens, Muscovy Ducks, Hair sheep etc.
WE ARE A GROUP OF FARMERS WHO HAVE JOINED TOGETHER TO PRODUCE LIVESTOCK AND FOWL...AND THE LIVESTOCK GUARDIAN DOGS TO WATCH OVER THEM.....THAT ARE BRED FOR HEALTH AND TEMPERAMENT AND GUARDING ABILITIES.
One Thing We All Have In Common Is The Desire To Produce Puppies For People Who Have The Need For Protection, Have Experience, And Promise To Provide An Exemplary Home for our Puppies. WE like to think our dogs are "living the life" ....working and playing on our farms in the Fraser Valley while providing a valuable service for our families and our living creatures that share our land. EXAMPLE PICTURES POSTED ...... pups from past litters and a few adults as well ... I have a ton of photos and some videos for viewing :) We also have miles of great reviews on the pups from texts coming back from previous litters. Between us we have an array of different breeds, all bred for the same purpose, guarding our livestock, children and property against any number of predators.
We have done our homework and chose breeds that we have collectively found to be the best over the years. We aim to breed in the qualities that farmers have sought after for thousands of years such as....
LOYALTY & DEVOTION....YET INDEPENDENT THINKING....PROTECTIVE & SERIOUS AGAINST ENEMIES..... YET GENTLE AND AFFECTIONATE WITH FAMILY & FRIENDS....CALM AND WISE....YET QUICK AND FEROCIOUS .....JUST TO NAME A FEW We have some well known breeds such as GREAT PYRENEES and MAREMMAS as well as some RARER breeds such as SARPLANIAC and CAUCASIAN SHEPHERD. We have carefully selected purebreds while others have been crossed to improve the breed. We prefer the crossbred dogs as they are inclined to have better overall heath and temperament. Many studies prove this. Any pure breds that we breed come from great stock and are health tested or will be at the right age.
We will not sell to just anyone but rather prefer to develop a relationship; a community if you will, of like minded individuals who intend on treating the dog as a productive family member and friend. On occasion a family has property but not livestock and in this case the "family" will become the object of your dogs instinctual protective behaviour. We want to hear from you after you purchase a pup and are willing to answer any questions you may have. Although their protective behaviour is innate, these dogs still require training as puppies in a firm, consistent and calm manner.
WHATS AVAILABLE? (Combined Individual Farmers) LITTER IN TRAINING of Caucasian Pyrenees Dam X Sharplaninac Sire (12 weeks) 1 female & 3 males left AND...... Litter of Caucasian Pyrenees X Sharplaninac (6 weeks old) males & females left
Coming Up: Purebred Caucasian pups (will be bred next heat) - due to demand for the purebred Sarplaniac Cross breeds in the future Purebred or mixed Tibetan Mastiff ...... November breeding (have not decided which way to go yet (we will see what demand is by information gathered by qualifying possible owners)
After many years experience with both purebreds and cross breeds we have found the crosses to have much better overall health and temperament. Statistics say that its 500 to 100 (different possible genetic problems) in purebred dogs over crossed breeds. That is significant! BUT..... the only type that should be crossed in my opinion is ones bred for the same job. For example: Livestock guardians with livestock guardians Not hunting dogs with livestock dogs (very confusing for the dog who doesn't know what to do and often is in trouble) Thanks for reading and we hope that we can help you out with any questions you may have ... warm wishes for a happy, healthy and contented life :).... Debi and the other guys!!
