Purebred Plymouth Barred Rock
Plymouth Barred Rock is a dual-purpose bird, raised both for its meat and for its light brown eggs. It is resistant to cold, easy to manage and will lay approximately 250-300 large light brown coloured eggs per year. Cockrels will grow to about 9-10 pounds and hens to 7-8 pounds.
They are our best performing breed and continued to lay throughout the winter for us with no added light.
