This is a 400 year old rare German breed ( Westfalische Totleger )
Death layer hens will lay ( approximately ) an egg a day until she dies. This is phenomenal considering in most chicken breeds, a good laying hen will lay for about 3 - 4 years. The average lifespan of Death Layers are 10-12 years.
The perfect breed for peppers and worth their weight in gold.
