Kunekunes have docile, friendly temperaments and are a manageable size. They are great for families and self-sufficient homesteads.
Kunekunes are good grazers, root less than other breeds and do not challenge fences. They are an excellent meat source with dark red, richly marbled meat that is moist and tender and are often referred to as the Wagyu of pork. Kune Kunes are high fat producers. They are great for self-sufficiency as fats are one of the most difficult resources to obtain and among the most expensive to buy for homesteaders.
