Description

Aquila 21 Speed Mountain Bike. Classic Old School bicycle . Down tube measures : 15 1/2" Top Tube : 18 1/2" Tires : 26"X 1.75" I purchased this bike to use as a commuter and off-road machine but I got the size slightly wrong . I am 5'9" tall and it is just a bit small for me, I can ride it but it's just not a comfortable size , so I am selling it. Should fit someone 5' - 5' 7" tall. It has a shock absorbing seat post- a "Glide Post Moderne" which works well to calm the bumps. This is a steel frame bike made in Canada for Quebec's Decathlon sports store chain. It's sturdy and well built , similar to the classic Trek Rockhopper/Stumpjumper series (that's why I bought it) . I put new gear cables, new brake cables , break blocks and a new left hand shifter on it.I also put a nice Axion rack on the back and a metal water bottle holder and a bell. Everything works as it should: it shifts fine for all gears (Shimano Exage 300 LX front and back). I also bought it for the Biopace (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biopace ). Yes it is debatable whether Biopace is beneficial but personally I love Biopace. I have it on my Zini and my Bianchi road bikes. The brakes are Shimano cantilever and they function quite well . The wheels are in good tru back and front. The paint finish is dun colour matte grey, it was sold by the manufacturer as a "stealth" finish back in the day (hides the mud and doesn't look "flash", again I like it but agree it is not to everyone's liking). Has a kick stand too.Back wheel is an aluminum Ritchie Vantage Sport , Front a made in USA Trek Matrix aluminum. It's a unique bike that I wish fit me. Just looking to get some of the money and time I put into back, so it's $250 cash, local sales only.
