Music lessons with a retired professor

Experience counts! I taught music in both university and high school, have performed as a cellist in many orchestras and groups including some pop and improvisation groups, and also performed on the viola da gamba in historically-informed presentations. My training included how to teach all bowed string instruments, violin, viola, cello and bass, so I can get you started on your choice. I also have some cellos and violins to rent. I prefer to teach in person in my studio in Paris, but can also travel to you. I tailor all my materials to the student, not following any particular method book, but base much of my beginning material on the popular Suzuki method. I supply all the written materials for my students. I enjoy particular success with adult beginners. My rates are low and my hours flexible. My other professional activity was research and publications in music history, so am also available to teach about general music appreciation or details of history and theory.
