Private Voice and Theory Lessons in London Ontario
My name is Mark Pichkur and I am a third-year voice student at the University of Western Ontario. I am currently studying under the guidance of Theodore Baerg, a well-known Canadian - American baritone with a rich history of performing multiple roles all over the country and abroad. I hold a Grade 10 Piano Diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music as well as a Graduation Diploma with Distinction from the School of Arts of Igor Stravinsky in Moscow, Russia.
I have had a lot of experience teaching voice, as well as piano and theory throughout the past years. I provide a quality learning environment for those who are interested in developing their vocal and overall musical skill as well as those who strive to understand music on a deeper level. All are welcome, regardless of age or previous experience.
My teaching strategy focuses on the physical and technical aspects of singing, as well as on developing the overall musicality and the performance skill of the student. I am willing to adapt and modify my strategy to the specific needs and learning habits of every individual, as well as to explore their inclinations towards different genres of music. By being a student myself, I am better able to understand the perspective of my own students, as well as pass on my knowledge and passion in a more personable manner.
I can prepare students for RCM voice/theory/history examinations, although that does not necessarily have to be the main goal of our lessons.
My rates are $20/half hour, $25/45 minutes, and $30/hour. I am able to teach at my own house, which is located in Byron, or in the practice rooms of Western University Music Building.
