Saxophone and Clarinet Lessons: Online & In-Person

Hello!

I am offering both online and in-person saxophone and clarinet lessons to anyone looking to improve their performance and knowledge of music.

A 2010 graduate of Carleton University's Bachelor of Music program, where I focused on jazz performance, I have played in many groups across Ottawa, having performed at the Ottawa Jazz Festival, Ottawa Bluesfest, and the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, among others. Current projects include hyper funk powerhouse Eru-Era, the 11-piece Sly High – Canada's #1 tribute to Sly and the Family Stone, and Ottawa’s own soul band The Hornettes. I also play and record as a session musician and sideman for various other projects.

Through over 25 years of performing and 22 years of both private and group teaching I have developed a knowledgeable and flexible approach to assessing the needs of individual students and helping them towards their musical goals. Whether for school, auditions, or personal enjoyment, I can tailor a program to suit the student, and teach them the fundamental principles of music and their instrument. I am passionate about music and encourage students to develop their musical skills and tastes.

Lessons are currently available through my home studio in the Carlingwood area, and through Long and McQuade's Ottawa location.
