Huge Art Book from 1926 Germany, Images of North Sea, Baltic Sea

This auction is for a massive vintage art book entitled “DIE SEE in Gemälden deutscher Maler. 53 Gemälde deutscher Maler von der Nor- und Ostsee und ihren Küsten in originalgetreuen Farbendrucken.” – This roughly translates into: “THE SEA in paintings by German painters. 53 paintings by German painters from the North and Baltic Seas and their coasts in original color prints.” The book was Edited / Curated by Felix Graf Luckner, Heindrich Sarnetzki, and Karl-M Rohe. The book was published in Cologne (Koln) by Hoursch & Bechstedt in 1926 The book is massive, measuring about 14 x 11 inches, with a beautiful embossed ship on the cover, and a lovely leather spine. There is a 32 page Introduction, with many woodcut illustrations, and this is followed by 80 pages of colour plates. The colour images include many seascapes, scenes of sailing ships, German Navy warships (Perhaps from the WW1 era?), and other such scenes. The pages are on extremely heavy and high quality paper, and the plates are pasted down on one side only. I’ve copied a list of the artists included, below. The book has a former owner’s inscription written inside the flyleaf, but otherwise the book is in excellent condition – especially for its age! The spine is tight but supple, the pages are clean and flat, and it’s overall a superb example of the bookmaker’s craft from Weimar Germany!
