Show Car Dreams, MASTER EDITION, 2 Book Collection, MINT
Show Car Dreams, Super Rare "MASTER EDITION" 2 Book Collection, Factory Sealed, absolutely MINT condition.
Don't miss this chance to own a piece of the history of the CANADIAN and AMERICAN custom car world and its' rich legacy. Re-live the early days of Toronto's Speed Sport and Van Sport in the pages of this VERY RARE collection, as this may be your only opportunity to do so.
Show Car Dreams is "The Art and Colour of Sixty Years of Indoor Custom Cars and Hot Rod Shows." This very limited, collectible edition features the sixty-year history of indoor hot rod and custom car shows. Containing over 800 photos detailing many memorable and significant vehicles and personalities, this large format limited-edition book covers the art and color of America and Canada's indoor car show events.
Chronicling the exciting evolution of the indoor custom car show through the eyes of the International Show Car Association’s founder Bob Larivee Sr., and with writers including David Fetherston, Greg Sharp, and Bill Moeller, Show Car Dreams tells the story of the men and women who made it happen and the owners and builders who have set the trends in hot rodding and custom cars since just after WWII.
Not only will you find a behind-the-scenes account of show car history, this book also captures the promotional material of the time. Many of the original car show fliers and tickets are reproduced in this collection. The fifth picture in the ad shows early fliers and posters from the Toronto Speed-Sport shows at left and the Chicago and Milwaukee shows at right.
Admittedly, these books are not cheap, however if you have an interest in show car history and/or the cars from this period, this exclusive collection may be for you. The cost is mainly due to the extremely limited press run of 1500 total copies and the over-the-top packaging that seems to be well suited for the outsized personality of the whole car show scene. It is believed that Show Car Dreams will become a must-have for those who pride themselves in having a well-stocked hot rod and custom car library.
Show Car Dreams is actually available in three different versions. The Limited Edition version is 300 pages and comes packaged in a beautiful custom black wooden case with protective velvet liner.
The Special Edition is the same as the Limited Edition but with an extra chapter that gives further coverage of ONE of the following seven regional shows of your choice. The extra chapters are available on the Detroit Autorama, Grand National Roadster Show, Mid-America Shows for Kansas City and Omaha, Toronto Show which includes Eastern Canada, Louisville Show, Great Lakes Shows (Cleveland, Cincinnati, Indianapolis), and Chicago/Milwaukee.
THE MASTER EDITION (which is the SUPER RARE one I'm offering for sale) includes the 300 page Limited Editions plus ALL of the above additional chapters in a separate volume — 492 pages of the definitive history of hot rod and custom car shows, packaged in a beautiful velvet-lined, black wooden case.
The books also carry the seal of the International Show Car Association, so you know that they are authentic.
I purchased the set brand new in March of 2011, and they have been stored in my indoor storage room since. The 2-book set comes in its' own velvet-lined, wooden carrying case, which is itself enclosed in another white cardboard display box, and the books have never been opened or even displayed. Everything currently sits in the box in which they were originally shipped, and has been since I received them.
The pictures of the white cardboard box, the black wooden box, and the sealed books, were taken by me. The other pictures of the contents of the book were obtained from the Internet, as my copies are factory sealed, and everything is in ABSOLUTELY MINT condition.
The Master Edition sold for $495 US Dollars, plus shipping when it was first released back in the Spring of 2011, and it quickly sold out. My asking price is $750, which I believe is a fair price, especially considering that this is the SUPER RARE and ABSOLUTELY MINT, MASTER EDITION. You probably won't find another one, and in this condition too often, if at all.
Once again, don't miss this chance to own a piece of the history of the CANADIAN and AMERICAN custom car world and its' rich legacy. Re-live the early days of Toronto's Speed Sport and Van Sport in the pages of this VERY RARE collection, as this may be your only opportunity to do so.
Days and early evenings please, Thanks, Lenny
