Administrative Assistants duties revolve around managing and distributing information within an office. Administrative assistants may also be in charge of sending and receiving correspondence, as well as greeting clients and customers.
Prepare reports and related material from machine dictation and handwritten copy;
Open and distribute incoming regular and electronic mail and co-ordinate the flow of information internally;
Schedule and confirm appointments and meetings of employer;
Order office supplies and maintain inventory;
Answer enquiries and relay messages;
Set up and maintain manual and computerized information filing systems;
Determine and establish office procedures;
Record and prepare minutes of meetings;
May compile data, statistics and other information to support research activities; and
May supervise and train office staff in procedures and in use of current software.
Completion of Secondary (High) School is required.
Minimum 1 year of experience within the industry is preferred.
Combination of education and experience will be considered.
