Antique Wicker Love-seat

Rare natural antique wicker love-seat that is estimated to have been made between 1910 and 1920. Closely woven rolled serpentine back and arms. Criss-crossed reed latticework at back and on skirting. Two upholstered seat cushions and one full-length custom upholstered backrest. Inner-spring seating construction.

Made by Imperial Rattan Co. Ltd. Stratford, Ontario (largest manufacturer of wicker furniture in Canada from 1905 through the 1930’s). The harmonious and balanced design is based on rational construction, simple ornamentation and geometric lines.

Love-seat made of Reed, Cane and Rattan; Certified appraisal of fair market value has been conducted by Saunders Appraisal Service and is available. Richard Saunders has written 5 books on antique wicker furniture and has lectured before the American Society of Appraisers. Fair market value is appraised at $ 1000.
