Job Description:Job Description POSITION SUMMARY:This position is responsible to safe and efficient sorting, grading and placement of recycled materialsin their appropriate areas according to the specified requirements and production standards.ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:• Comply with all company policies and safety procedures.• Complete all daily housekeeping duties as directed by the Production Supervisors.• Perform other duties as laid out by the Lead Hand and/or Production Supervisors. Examplesof other duties will include yard/plant cleanup and material sorting.• A qualified trained spotter to direct vehicles to the dumping area.• Adapt to an always changing and growing industry.• Grading and sorting of bulk loads of loose materials.This job description indicates the general nature and level of work, duties and responsibilitiesexpected of the incumbent. The incumbent may be asked to perform other duties as required. The jobdescription may be changed if needed as determined by the Company.SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS• You are responsible to abide by all Safety Rules, Policies, andProcedures.• Steel toe safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection and hard hat must be worn whileworking or any protective device required by Company where required.• Federal and Provincial Government approved COVID mask must be worn at all times.• Safety gloves are to be worn while handling wooden rolling bins. Sorting gloves to be wornwhen sorting paper.• High Visibility Safety vest, or uniform with visibility strips must be worn while working.• You are required to work in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act of Ontario.• You are required to work in a safe manner and not to endanger yourself, another employee, orany other person, through reckless unsafe actions.• You shall not remove or make ineffective, any protective device required by the company.• Report immediately any identified hazard to your Production Supervisor.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:• Must be able to lift, push and pull a minimum of 20 kgs (44 pounds).• Must have excellent manual dexterity.• Will perform duties that require repetitive motion.• Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time.• Will be required to bend, kneel and climb stairs.• Must be able to work in confined spaces.• Will be exposed to seasonal weather conditions due to working in a recycling environment.• Noisy environment.• High Exposure to Repetitive Movement.QUALIFICATIONS:• Excellent hand and eye coordination.• Good communication skills.• Must be self-motivated and be able to work independently.• Ability to work as a team member.• Willingness to adapt and improve.• Ability to receive and follow instruction.
