Senior IT/OT Network Architect

Job Description:Job Description PAY IS DOE Eramosa a CIMA + Company is looking for a Senior IT/OT Network Architect with experience in the industrial field. Eramosa works with clients in the Water, Wastewater and Renewable Energy sectors. CIMA+ works with many clients in the fields of electrical utilities, mining, transit, healthcare institutions plus many others. We are looking for a Senior Network Architect who will be able to design or review existing network architectures, analyze their weaknesses, propose solutions, and ensure their successful implementation. The candidate should have good knowledge in layers 1 to 4 of the OSI model as well as in virtualized, physical or cloud server infrastructure. Responsibilities The successful candidate will be working directly with Eramosa’s clients. He /she will:Leverage his/her experience to analyze the client’s needs and recommend solutionsAssist with defining and leading various consulting engagementsDesign network architectures (LAN/WAN) in line with current needs and best practicesReview existing network architectures and recommend solutions as neededClearly and comprehensively document the architecture and solutions implementedApply good cybersecurity practicesPerform the design of IP network infrastructures and servers, physical, virtual and cloud including the preparation of plans and specificationsActively participate in the configuration, installation and implementation of IP networks and server infrastructures physical, virtual and cloudSupport projects under construction in both a technical and administrative roleMentoring of junior team membersAssisting with the development of proposalsActing as technical lead on projectsWork as part of a multidisciplinary teamDevelop and maintain relationship with existing and new clients ProfileMinimum of 8 years in Operational Technology (OT) network experienceBachelor’s degree in IT, engineering or equivalentPrevious experience designing and implementing network architecture (LAN/WAN), server, physical, virtual and cloudExpert level knowledge in working with a variety of communication media including copper, fibre, radio, cellularExcellent understanding of Industrial Communication Protocols such as Modbus, DNP3 and GOOSEExperienced with technical report writingPrevious consulting experience and/or experience supporting multiple customersBroad networking experience including:Architecture designLayer 2VLAN. trunkingLACP, Spanning Tree, PRPTiming synchronization (IEEE 1588, IRIG-B)Layer 3 (Routing)OSPF, BGPLayer 4 firewall rulesExpert level knowledge of the following software: VM Ware, Hyper V, Windows Operating Systems, Ubuntu Linux, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Server Operating Systems, Microsoft 365 and other software products and applicationsExpert level knowledge and experience with Cisco, HP and other manufacturer productsKnowledge in the following fields would be considered an asset:Backup and recovery as well disaster recovery solutionsKnowledge of cybersecurity best practices and solutionsKnowledge of cloud computing environments, including Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWSExperience working with AutoCADPLC and SCADA systemsIT/OT convergenceWi-Fi, microwave, and other wireless networking technologiesIndustrial networking protocols (OPC, AMQP, MQTT, REST/JSON Interface) Certifications Having one or more active industry related certifications such as the following would be considered an asset:CCIECCNPRCDDFortinet NSEVCPCISSP Company Description Eramosa, a CIMA+ owned company, is a vibrant, growing consulting engineering firm with offices in Guelph, Calgary, Kansas, Toronto, and London dedicated to developing long-lasting relationships with our clients based on trust, mutual respect, integrity, and technical excellence.
