We are a fishing vacation resort with a lodge/restaurant on Lake of the Woods, on a private island minutes from town, known for our beautiful location, clean cabins and boats, awesome food and good ol' Canadian hospitality and courteous service. We have a team that earns dayrates, tips and bonuses from May to October with room, board, wifi and full power grid amenities provided with negotiable travel provisions and days off schedules.
Remaining positions available at our resort are open to any Canadian from any province, from students and young adults to vets, empty nesters and retirees. They include:
Fishing Guide – extensive fresh water experience required (pike, walleye, bass, musky, crappie). LOTW knowledge preferred but will train. Requires professional relations, fish cleaning and shore lunch service by a licensed and competent tiller operator. Driver's license also required. Brand new boats supplied.
Dockhand - assist guests and coworkers on our docks; wash, gas up and take care of boats; landscaping / grounds keeping; assist with deliveries, minor repairs and maintenance. Must be a competent and licensed vehicle and boat operator (18' tillers, 20' console boats). Advancement opportunities available for Guiding, and/or build & renovation projects.
All positions average 9 to 10 hour shifts plus breaks. Successful candidates will be team oriented and willing to learn; be polite and presentable, have a clean criminal record, be fluently English and physically able. Bona fide requirements many include lifting, carrying, standing, bending, walking (indoors and outdoors); and using stairs, step ladders, knives, chemicals, hand tools and power appliances.
