Do you have boxes of irreplaceable photos, stacks of film, and old video tapes gathering dust?
Time, decay, and obsolescence are threats to these analog media forms . I use high-end well maintained equipment to digitize all of the following.
PHOTOS (up to 9600dpi natively)
*Prints - up to 8.5 x11
*Slides (i.e film positives)
*Film negatives of various sizes.
VIDEO (digitize in lossless AVI and convert to MP4/MOV or other formats up to 4k)
*All Sony 8 type tapes including Video8, Hi8, and Digital8
*MiniDV
Optional ad-ons include timestamping and geocoding the digital outputs.
Of course, the price will depend on required quality and quantity of photos and videos to be digitized and any optional metadata manipulation.
I am a local archivist, not a mail-in service. If you send me the particulars of what you want to archive I will provide you with a quote in short order. On an apples-to-apples basis, I will meet or beat the prices offered by the mail-in box services.
