Convert your 8 mm movies to digital

N2A 2P3, Canada(View Map)

Do you have boxes of old home movie reels sitting around with no way to view them? I can scan your 8mm or Super 8 movies to digital format. The process scans frame by frame to create MP4 files which you can view on your computer, or connect your computer to your TV and view there. The MP4’s will be silent: if your Super 8 movie has sound recorded, that is not captured. The images are captured as is and are not retouched in any way. I will take the best care possible of your films, but if your film has degraded, or is brittle with age that can affect the scan quality. In some cases the colour also degrades with age. I will not be held responsible for any damage to your films. Cost is: 3” reel (50 feet) - $10 5” reel (200 feet) - $20 7” reel (400 feet) - $45 Plus the cost of a USB drive to put the MP4s on. Note that it takes 2 – 2 ½ hours to scan a 5” reel and creates an MP4 of around 500Mb. The size of the USB will depend on how many movies you are converting. I also can convert 2”x2” slides to digital. In this case I project the slide on a screen and take a photo of it. I have tried scanners for slides, but found that the quality was better by taking a photo. The cost for slide conversion is $0.25 per slide, plus the cost of the USB.
