This all-in-one design incorporated a built-in monochrome scanner above the usual keyboard.
Designed to save space on cluttered desks, this combination device was compatible with Microsoft Windows and accepted a wide range of scannable materials, from newspaper pages to business cards.
With its optical character recognition (OCR) capabilities, courtesy of PaperPort and Xerox Textbridge software, the Compatibles could scan a page every six seconds and OCR text of font size of 10-point size or greater.
