Licensed builder needed for 450ft2 eco home in Destruction Bay

Destruction Bay, YT Y0B 1H0, Canada(View Map)

I am looking for an experienced carpenter / framer who is willing to be the prime contractor for my 14' x 32' timber frame eco home in Destruction Bay. There is also a small separate 6' x 8' utility building that will go up for the solar batteries, inverter-charger, and the service mast (with underground electrical wiring to the house).

I would like to build this summer, as soon as the septic permit is issued (the local septic contractor has said he will do the work in May or June when the ground melts). This position would be ideal for a carpenter from Haines Junction who can go back home every night if he or she wishes. Currently there are no services in the town of Destruction Bay. We do have access to an outhouse from a neighbor in D Bay.

You will be the one pulling the building permits and plumbing permits. I have completed the Home Wiring Test and am capable of doing my own electric permits and work.

The building plans are attached to this ad. It is a simple double wall (12" thick) with 2x6 structural outer wall and a 2 inch styrofoam gap, then a 2x4 inner wall. The roof is a simple center peak gable with 12:12 pitch and a 12 inch raised heel truss. Floor is 2x12 joists with a 14 ft span. The foundation is a gravel pad with pressure treated 2x6 pads and beam blocking under the joists.

There will be solar panels and wind turbines attached to the house. I am getting a licensed structural engineer to approve this.

There is a shed already on the property (see the attached site plan). And a driveway so you can bring your work truck or RV up to the house location.

Please contact me if you are interested in providing a quote or an hourly rate with availability to perform the work over this summer.
