Aimed at cleaning and disinfecting reptile and amphibian habitats, Chlorhexidine 2% Solution is both safe and easy to use.

This product can be sprayed liberally over animals, cages, bowls, husbandry tools, and even your own hands. Vets use chlorhexidine gluconate 2% as a mouthwash during surgery, and it can be used as a wound wash. We use chlorhexidine gluconate 2% to clean every enclosure, rack bin by spraying moderately and wiping dry with a paper towel, and we clean the water bowls with Chlorhexidine Gluconate 2% before refilling with fresh water as well. Much safer and longer lasting than watered down Bleach solutions, and certainly safer than a commercial disinfectant, Chlorhexidine gluconate 2% will tackle everything from the cage glass, to the cage floor, to the animal, to your grimy hands after. Also safe enough to treat mild wounds, scratched heads, sore lips, mouth rot etc.

Chlorhexidine Gluconate 2% is approved by Health Canada and recommended by Toronto Animal Services for use with reptiles.

Chlorhexidine 2% Solution is a safe, widely used disinfectant, and is used in veterinary hospitals and zoos the world over as a disinfectant. Chlorhexidine is also one of the disinfecting agents in mouthwash, as well as a surgical scrub and wound cleanser in hospitals.

Chlorhexidine gluconate binds to the cell membrane of bacteria, causing all bacterial reproduction to stop, and killing the bacteria. Chlorhexidine gluconate is particularly effective against such bacteria as Streptococcus agalactiae, Streptococcus dysgalactiae, Streptococcus uberis, Staphylococcus aureus, E. coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Just mix 1oz of Chlorhexidine 2% Solution to 1 gallon of water. Spray diluted Chlorhexidine 2% Solution on an impermeable surface, such as glass or plastic. Allow to soak for 5 minutes, then rinse and wipe dry.

Chlorhexidine 2% Solution is safer to use than other available habitat cleaners. Unlike bleach, Chlorhexidine 2% Solution does not have an odor or fumes that can harm your animals.
