This slate formed the roof of a house built in the 1860's
The slate is large and will have two holes where the roofing nails went in.
It's also very thick and can be delicate.
Size is 14"X24"
The people that have purchased the slate from me tell me of the slate being used for other purposes - other than roofing. Things like arts and crafts painting surfaces, chalk boards, kitchen back splash, serving trays. I asked if they would share pictures when their projects were done and I’m including a few.
The price is $7 per tile. That’s the price. If you want quantity, we can discuss some kind of discount but I’m not letting them go for much less. And remember, you are buying old slate. It looks old, it is old. If you have any other expectations, you should consider purchasing new stuff. I would be interested in selling them by the skid so I’m open to haggling for skid pricing but come at this offer from a reasonable angle.
I have had them for years and years. I placed them on new skids this year. I don’t know what the count is per skid. Of course, slate being slate, the piles have many good slates but there are some that are split/chipped. Overall, more good than not and you are welcome to do some sorting for what it is you like.
