Business Development Consultant
(Work for Randstad Canada)

The Business Development (Staffing) consultant’s primary focus is to sell Randstad staffing solutions to prospective partners as well as active clients. Our consultants spend 50% of their work week developing new business and 50% of their work week managing accounts and recruiting top talent in their defined skill category. Working in small teams, you must effectively manage the profitability of your business by managing individual activity levels and the overall volume as well as the effectiveness of the selling and recruitment initiatives.

Qualifications
As a Staffing Consultant, your responsibilities are divided into 3 facets:

Business Development: You will be assigned a client database in a specific, local territory. With help from targeted marketing tools, your goal will be to further develop and grow your database through the development of client relationships. You will also be responsible for the prospecting of new clients through telephone contact as well as through scheduled personalized visits. The consultant must proactively determine his/her clients’ and prospective clients’ hiring needs through ongoing communication.

Candidate Service: On a daily basis, each consultant will recruit, screen, interview and assess a sufficient amount of candidates to fill open positions within a pre-determined time frame. You will get to know the candidates and their desired work environments while taking into consideration their qualifications. The ultimate goal is to help our candidates successfully find the employment best suited for their needs. It is the consultant’s responsibility to develop and implement new recruitment strategies and coordinate additional recruitment activities such as career days and job fairs.

Client Service (small, medium and large businesses): This facet puts into play one’s “problem solving” abilities. You must present your top candidates to each client with whom you have an open position, keeping in mind their needs and requirements. The ultimate goal in this facet is to find the right fit between the candidate and the company, which would result in successfully filling the client’s position.

Requirements:
•Industry experience NOT required
•2 plus years of partnership selling (Business to Business)
•Retail or hospitality Management experience is also welcome
•People that are driven by achieving a financial result thrive in this role
