RRU MBA Student Edmonton
Royal Roads Student with a Young Family
I can't say enough about Angela, Frank and the Elements and Insights Garden Suite. I just completed my residency at Royal Roads University, spending a month on campus. I brought my wife and my 4 month old son with me, and the stay was so worth it.
Frank and Angela did everything to make us feel comfortable. Great communication and contact, we didn't have to worry about a thing.
The suite itself is beautiful with everything you could want. A fully stocked kitchen with spices, condiments, coffee and such gave me an advantage over my fellow students who could only eat in the cafeteria for three weeks. They even left us reusable shopping bags to take to get groceries!
The suite is about a 15 minute walk down the trails to RRU. A few mornings it rained. No worries, Frank and Angela left two umbrellas for our use. It's the small things that matter, and they take care of even the smallest of things.
My wife and I used the garden shed to store our stroller, we used the BBQ to cook and the hot tub after our son was asleep because it was still in range of our baby monitor. It was a great way to de-stress after long days in class, before tacking homework.
With better amenities than the campus itself, I would always choose to stay here over the barracks they call dorms. The wifi worked well, and I had all the comforts of home while being walking distance from campus. The suite is close to libraries, swimming pools, and shopping, so there's lots for a parent to do with their child as well. My wife and son filled the days with fun while I was in school.
RRU recommends that you stay on campus and that you don't bring your family with you. I can say that I was at a significant advantage by not following that advice. With a rate similar to the price of dorm rooms, staying at the suite puts you ahead financially as you don't have to buy all your meals at the RRU cafeteria.
I will stay here again for my next residency and for my convocation. You should too. ************************
