Description

3 Ferrets for rehoming, 2 siblings (3 years old) and a younger companion (2 years old). They get along wonderfully, and are very well behaved, with no instances of biting or issues like that. The youngest is a little more wild with quite a bit of energy, but the older two like to be lazy and cuddly (and give kisses!). They all love to play together and keep each other entertained.

This is a tough ad to post because we have avoided rehoming for about a year of struggling to manage them and our lifestyle (we have had them since they were babies -- 2 to 3 years), but I thought I'd post this and see if there is any interest. We have two young kids, and one more on the way. Our oldest breaks out in intense hives (to the point it is difficult for them to see due to swollen eyes), so we have to deep clean every surface the ferrets might touch during their play time. Our 1 year old was jumped on (playfully) by the youngest ferret and now is terrified/traumatized by the ferrets, so much so that they will shriek and cry if they see the ferrets out of the cage. Now we avoid letting them out to play in spaces where my oldest goes.. and also cannot let them out when my 1 year old is awake. With these two problems, we realize that the ferrets can't be let out long enough to benefit them anymore. We recently moved from a house that was all vinyl flooring and great for ferrets, to a house with mostly carpeting which has posed a real problem for where we can let the ferrets out and supervise them safely.

Hopefully it's apparent that this is not at the fault of the ferrets at all, they are lovely pets and so much fun. They love attention and need the ability to play for several hours a day, so if a home can offer that then it will be less stressful than the situation we are currently in with them. We love them so much that seeing their quality of life decline with the problems we are facing is heartbreaking. Like I said, we have tried to manage the allergy symptoms and having new babies in the house since my youngest was born, but after a year we have to admit it is not working. I am hoping to find someone who has experience with ferrets, because they are quite different than owning a cat or a dog. I haven't listed a price to rehome because I am not sure what is even reasonable to charge, I do have all supplies for them so they are ready to live wherever a good home might be. Please reach out with any questions, or if there is any interest.
