USB is part of power adapter, so either needs to be USB plug wall adapter/socket or plug into the computer USB port and audio jack for connecting to computer audio/headphone jack.
The volume level at 0 is always off when small light is not on, so you need to turn the knob at clockwise to turn on and increase the volume level indicate small light is on.
