Description

2001 Ducati M750 - $4000 firm

This bike is absolutely awesome and absolutely imperfect.

It has tank scratches, fracture-shortened clutch and brake levers, etc. It is not a like-new bike. It is, however, a kick-ass bike.

It has been extensively upgraded over its stock origins. It has gorgeously slick Rizoma clip-on bars and CRG bar-end mirrors; the exhaust has been custom shortened for aesthetics and hollowed for resonance and performance; the drive sprocket was reduced for more torque and quicker acceleration; the carburetor has been jetted and the air filter opened-up for better performance; the tail light configuration was “sportified” to get rid of the hideous stock plastic mount.

2001 Ducati M750 - $4000 firm

Having just passed another (major) birthday, I’m giving-up motorcycling and selling my beautiful, speedy bike.

This bike is absolutely awesome and absolutely imperfect.

I purchased this bike in 2003. The bike had a bent fork and broken bars from a small crash, and the insurance company decided to pay-off on the bike despite these small, easily repaired damages. The forks and bars were replaced and the bike was perfect when I bought it.

It is no longer aesthetically perfect, as you can see in the photos. It has tank scratches (from a careless tow), fracture-shortened clutch and brake levers (from unfortunate garage drops), etc. It is not a like-new bike. It is, however, a wonderful bike.

Since I moved to Vancouver in 2008, it has been ridden only in summers. It has been well maintained and runs perfectly. It is insured and registered.

With a small investment of time and money, this bike could easily be restored to perfection: paint the tank, new levers, paint the mufflers. It is priced to work-out to a serious bargain for someone who wants to do this. My motorcycle days are finished.

But it is crazy-good even in its presently sub-perfect condition. The bike was serviced at Desmoto Sport in SF between 2003 and 2008, when I lived there. Since then, it has been ridden only in summers here in Vancouver; and not at all in the past two years, although it is just now insured and registered. It was in good riding order in 2017, running perfectly. It needs a few tanks of gas through the carbs (and a tune-up wouldn't hurt) to get it humming again after the layoff. It still starts and runs at-once, although the performance is a bit sluggish.

With a small investment of time and money, this bike could easily be restored to perfection: tune it, paint the tank, new levers, new mirror-glass, paint the mufflers. It is priced to work-out to a bargain for someone who wants to do this. My motorcycle days are finished.
