A superbly sweet sounding circuit, delicate clear sweetness; Audiophile's grade compact receiver, rarely seen for sale; perfect for smaller spaces.

This Marantz design sounds much more transparent to the source (clarity) than pre-1977 produced Marantz receivers. I personally seen tons of stereos and I still prefer this model over many heavyweight big name receivers; it just it makes music, not sound. Hearing is believing.

The best speaker match: 6 or 8 Ohms, small to midsize bookshelf. This amp is small, so 4 Ohm rated or huge/tower speakers are not the best match. Speakers Watts ratings are irrelevant, they are for max safe input. I played SR430 with Tannoy C-10 (fairly large, 10 inch woofers), and the sound was awesome.
