Good, full-size violin made by the Joseph Altricther factory in Frankfurt on the Odor River, Germany in about 1927. It bears the original label that states: "Nach Antonius Straduarius gefertigt/von J. Altrichter Hof.-Instr. Fabrik / in Frankfurt a. O. anno 19??"
Also branded on the upper back below the button: "J.Altrichter/INSTRUMENTEN-FABRIK/FRANKFURT. O".
Two-piece spruce top of medum-with grain, wider at the edges.
Two-piece maple back with horizontal narrow flames, with neck and scroll, and lighter flamed ribs. Medium-brown spirit varnish showing some craquelure on the back.
Fine condition, showing normal wear to the edges of the upper and lower bouts of the top plate.
