They take 3 AAA batteries(included, not fresh)and come with a case that holds 5 different levels of magnification; 1x, 1.5x, 2x, 2.5x, 3.5x. They are pretty comfortable and can be worn over glasses. The light above your eyes is adjustable at 2 different points. Almost never used.
