Description

If you’re the kind of person who says “I’m not buying more games until I play the ones I own” and then immediately opens Craigslist… welcome. You’re among friends. I’m trimming down a very nerdy board game collection. Everything is complete and playable. Games marked with an asterisk have some cosmetic wear on the outer box from use and shelving but nothing that affects components or gameplay. Whether you’re looking to add games to your family game night or looking to get a collection started, here’s a great list of discounted games. I am located in Toronto. I prefer a meetup downtown or downtown adjacent in the East end, especially near East York, Pape, or Broadview TTC stations. I’m more flexible on price if you can meet me in those areas. I am also happy to bundle based on how many you want and what you want. Honestly, if you want to build a mini collection in one go, I will absolutely make it worth your while. Message me with what you’re interested in and we’ll talk numbers. *** Here’s what’s up for grabs: Used Board Games In Good Condition Evolution The Origin of Species, - from RBG GbR 2012 2 to 6 players. Medium strategy. You’re evolving species by adding traits like carnivore, long neck, defensive abilities, then trying to keep them fed. Clever engine building with direct player interaction. Great for groups who like strategy but don’t want something overwhelming. Each round you’re playing trait cards to your species, then revealing food and seeing who survives. Carnivores hunt other players’ animals, defensive traits block attacks, and you’re constantly adapting. The art is clean and nature themed, more scientific illustration than cartoon. It has real table presence without being overcomplicated. Price I’m looking to sell for it for: $40 Average retail price if you purchased it new: $50-60 Chaos Marauders, - from Games Workshop 2009 2 to 4 players. Light to medium strategy, lots of interaction. Orcs and goblins trying to assemble the best raiding party while sabotaging each other. Very Games Workshop humor, very take-that. If you enjoy fantasy theme and a bit of friendly cruelty at the table, this one delivers. It’s another one that’s out of print and likely won’t be seen on shelves. Mechanically you’re building rows of fantasy units into a proper “raid,” but event cards and other players constantly mess with your formation. It’s very interactive and a little mean in a fun way. The art is classic GW cartoonish fantasy, lots of character and attitude. Price I’m looking to sell for it for: $35 Average retail price if you purchased it new: $45-55 Love Letter Limited Edition, - from Kanai Factory 2 to 4 players. Light micro game. Tiny deck, huge tension. Draw one, play one, try to eliminate others or have the highest card at the end. Fast rounds, easy to teach, very replayable. This limited edition isn’t as common as the mass versions. You’re deducing what others are holding and playing cards at just the right moment to knock them out. It plays in 15 minutes and immediately makes people want a rematch. Clean, storybook medieval style art. Price I’m looking to sell for it for: $15 Average retail price if you purchased it new: $20-30 Chrononauts The Time Travel Game, - from Looney Labs 1 to 6 players. Light, chaotic card play. You’re time travelers messing with historical events to create your preferred timeline. Change history, fix paradoxes, derail your friends’ plans. Silly theme but surprisingly clever interactions. You’re literally altering historical events on the table and watching the ripple effects change what’s possible. It’s very much a card driven, alternate history sandbox with bright, quirky art typical of Looney Labs. Price I’m looking to sell for it for: $20 Average retail price if you purchased it new: $25-35 Kanzume Goddess, - from Japanime Games 2012 2 to 6 players. Light card game with anime theme. Fast paced card play with special abilities and plenty of interaction. Bright art, quick rounds, easy to get to the table. Japanime Games titles from that era had modest print runs, so there’s not a ton of these available. You’re playing character cards with powers that trigger off each other, building small combos and disrupting opponents. The art is colorful anime style, very expressive characters. Price I’m looking to sell for it for: $20 Average retail price if you purchased it new: $30-40 Onirim, - from Z-Man Games 2010 1 to 2 players. Light strategy, great solo game. You’re wandering through a dream labyrinth trying to find doors before nightmares swallow you whole. It’s all hand management and push your luck. Quick turns, surprisingly tense. Perfect if you like solo brain puzzles or quiet co-op that doesn’t take over the whole table. You’re constantly deciding whether to play cards to move forward or discard sets to open doors, while Nightmares pop up at the worst possible time and force you to burn resources. The art has that surreal, storybook dream look, very abstract and moody. It’s the kind of game you can play in 20 minutes but still feel like you barely escaped with your sanity. Price I’m looking to sell for it for: $20 Average retail price if you purchased it new: $30-35 Double Agent Duo Collection, - from Bruno Faidutti and Ludovic Maublanc 5 to 7 players. Social deduction. Secret identities, hidden allegiances, shifting suspicions. A bit more structured than basic Werewolf, still quick and dramatic. Great for medium sized groups who like mind games. Players are split into teams with hidden roles and must give clues, bluff, and interpret statements to uncover the opposing side. Lots of eye contact and second guessing. Price I’m looking to sell for it for: $15 Average retail price if you purchased it new: $20-30 Eaten By Zombies, - from Max Holliday Batch 141 2 to 4 players. Light drafting and dark humor. You’re writing your will as zombies close in, deciding who gets what while managing survival odds. Morbidly funny, quick to play, easy to teach. Indie and with limited distribution. Mechanically it’s card drafting and set collection, but themed around inheritance and who you’re willing to leave behind. The art is cartoonish horror, more playful than scary. Price I’m looking to sell for it for: $15 Average retail price if you purchased it new: $25-30 Ted Alspach’s Ultimate Werewolf Compact Edition, - from Bezier Games 2013 5 to 30 players. Party, social deduction. Hidden roles, bluffing, accusations, dramatic table speeches. If you’ve played Werewolf or Mafia, you know the drill. The compact edition is easy to bring anywhere. One group is secretly werewolves, everyone else is trying to figure out who’s lying before they get picked off. It’s all table talk, reading faces, and defending yourself. Minimal components, maximum chaos. Price I’m looking to sell for it for: $10 Average retail price if you purchased it new: $15-20 Hanabi, - from Cocktail Games 2013 2 to 5 players. Light co-op, clever puzzle. You hold your cards backwards and can see everyone else’s. You give limited clues to collectively build fireworks in order. Simple rules, surprisingly thinky. Fantastic for thoughtful groups. Each turn you either give a clue, play a card hoping it’s correct, or discard to regain clues. It becomes this quiet cooperative logic puzzle where everyone feels smart when it clicks. The art is minimal and colorful, very clean design. Price I’m looking to sell for it for: $10 Average retail price if you purchased it new: $15-20 Used Board Games In Good Condition With Exterior Box Damage/Wear * Locke and Key The Game, - from Cryptozoic 2012 * 2 to 4 players. Medium strategy adventure. Based on the comic series. Explore the Keyhouse, gather keys, fight off threats. Semi co-op feel with story flavor. Nice for fans of the IP or anyone who likes thematic adventure games. Out of print and not found on most shelves. Some box wear. You’re moving through rooms, unlocking abilities with keys, and dealing with villains and events that escalate over time. It leans heavily into theme, with artwork inspired by the comics. Price I’m looking to sell for it for: $30 Average retail price if you purchased it new: $50-60 * Mad Zeppelin, - from Dust Game Ltd * 2 to 4 players. Light to medium strategy card combat. Pulp sci-fi airship battles with a slightly absurd tone. You’re building and battling zeppelins in a weird alternate history setting. Tactical but not heavy. Great for people who like combat games but don’t want a three hour commitment. Small publisher, limited distribution, basically disappeared from store shelves if you want something rarer. You’re drafting and playing cards to outfit your zeppelin with weapons and upgrades, then launching attacks and trying to outmaneuver opponents. The art has that retro pulp poster feel, lots of bold colors and dramatic airship action. It feels like a Saturday morning serial in board game form. Price I’m looking to sell for it for: $35 Average retail price if you purchased it new: $40-50 * Purge Sins of Science Inaugural Edition, - from Nova Forge 2012 * 2 to 4 players. Medium strategy, sci-fi combat. Factions battling in a futuristic setting using cards and tactical positioning. Indie publisher, interesting mechanics. Good for players who like direct conflict and a bit of grit. Indie release, low print run, not widely reprinted if you want something rarer. Some box wear. You’re deploying units, managing resources, and timing attacks while trying to anticipate opponents. The art leans darker sci-fi, armored units and dystopian tone. It feels like a condensed tactical skirmish in card form. Price I’m looking to sell for it for: $30 Average retail price if you purchased it new: $40-50 * Grimoire, - from Z-Man Games 2011 * 2 to 4 players. Medium strategy. Spell crafting and tableau building with interactive card play. You’re assembling magical combinations to score points while disrupting opponents. Good for players who like a bit of engine building without going full heavy euro. Older title without modern reprint. Some box wear. You draft and play spell components to build your own little magic engine, timing big plays while trying to block others. The art has a classic fantasy illustration style, lots of scrolls and arcane symbols. Price I’m looking to sell for it for: $25 Average retail price if you purchased it new: $40-50 * Scrumbrawl, - from Victim Games 2011 * 2 to 4 players. Light to medium fantasy sports brawler. Think rugby meets dungeon brawl. Dice rolling, positioning, chaotic plays. Good for competitive groups who like direct conflict and a bit of silliness. Another small publisher title that never had big retail penetration. When it appears, it’s usually from collectors downsizing. Some box wear. You’re drafting fantasy players, moving them around the field, tackling opponents, and trying to score while abilities trigger. It’s very much a head to head, in your face sports skirmish. Price I’m looking to sell for it for: $30 Average retail price if you purchased it new: $40 * Mountain of Inferno, - from Z-Man Games 2009 * 2 to 4 players. Light to medium fantasy adventure. Classic dungeon crawl feel. Explore, fight monsters, grab treasure, try not to die horribly. Easy to teach, fun with casual fantasy fans. An older title from before their catalogue stabilized. Not heavily reprinted and not commonly listed. Some outer box wear. You’re moving through a modular board, flipping tiles, encountering monsters and hazards, and upgrading your character as you go. It’s very old school adventure game energy, bright fantasy art and straightforward combat resolution. Price I’m looking to sell for it for: $20 Average retail price if you purchased it new: $40 * Zombies!!! Second Edition, - from Twilight Creations 2010 * 2 to 6 players. Light, chaotic tile laying survival. Build the town as you explore it, fight zombies, race to the helicopter. It’s swingy, it’s loud, and it absolutely feels like early 2000s zombie fever in cardboard form. Some box wear, fully playable. You lay down map tiles as you move, creating the city on the fly, roll dice to fight zombies, and use cards to trip up your friends. It’s not subtle, it’s not balanced like a euro, it’s pure theme and momentum. The art is gritty comic style, very B-movie apocalypse. Price I’m looking to sell for it for: $20 Average retail price if you purchased it new: $35-45 * Texas Zombies, - from Moonster Games 2012 * 2 to 5 players. Light, fast, dice-driven chaos. Cartoonish zombie outbreak in Texas. Roll dice, try not to get eaten, mess with your friends. It’s the kind of game you break out when people are laughing and nobody wants to read a rulebook. The corner of the box is dented/crushed during shipping, but inside content is good. Gameplay is very straightforward, roll dice to fight off zombies, play cards to mess with other players, and try to survive wave after wave. The art is exaggerated and comic book style, not serious horror. It plays quick and loud. Price I’m looking to sell for it for: $10 Average retail price if you purchased it new: $25-30 * Chez Goth Second Edition, - from Steve Jackson Games 2009 * 2 to 5 players. Light satire card game. You’re miserable goth roommates competing to be the most gloriously depressed. Very tongue in cheek, very much Steve Jackson style humor if you’ve played Munchkin. Some box wear. It’s mostly about playing cards to make your goth more miserable while sabotaging others. The art is exaggerated and silly, very comic strip style. Quick turns, lots of table jokes. Price I’m looking to sell for it for: $15 Average retail price if you purchased it new: $20-25
