1985 VW Vanagon GL Westfalia Camper

AVAILABLE FOR VIEWING $25,000 or Reasonable Offer She has never been winter driven. Original 1.9L wasserboxer engine. 150,000 miles. (Heads/valves done at 125,000.) Automatic transmission. New exhaust two years ago. Four new Continental Vanco tires about 10,000 miles ago. Full size spare. Interior in excellent condition. Front seats swivel. Seat belts for four. Original pop top in very good condition. Struts to assist in lifting top added two years ago. Sleeps two adults up and two adults down. Original Domestic fridge keeps items 'unwarm', but we use it for storage - cooler for cold items. Original propane stove. We have never cooked in the van, but it still works. Fresh water tank, electric tap and S/S sink. Also rarely used. Porta Potty Both original tables. Pop up/fold down drink and storage centre console added a few years ago. Complete original curtains in great shape. Snap in curtains for windshield. Snap in screen for rear opening. Trailer hitch (1 1/4") Roof racks. Lots of spare parts. Some are 'just-in-case' for longer road trips. We operate on the philosophy that complete catastrophic failure could happen at any time (but never has!). Prospective buyers don't need to be Vanagon mechanics, but some mechanical knowledge is certainly useful. She is an almost 40 year old vehicle... There is a very tight online community for these vans and many sources of NOS, used, and rebuilt parts. Like many Vanagons, she doesn't really like to idle when cold started, but is fine when she is up to temperature. She will cruise for hours on end at 80 - 85 kmh, and will sit at 100kmh, but mileage suffers. Averages about 20 mpg (11.8 L per 100km) on the highway. PM for more pictures or if you have any questions
