Are you or your student having trouble with, or wanting to improve, your high school math? I can help! I am a recently retired (June 2024) OCT with 32 years of teaching experience at the high school level. I have taught ALL courses in the Ontario curriculum, multiple times. I have an HBSc. (Math), MA (Math), and BEd. (intermediate/senior math) and am qualified to teach grades 7 – 12. My services include: - filling in learning gaps from one grade to the next - preparing for tests and exams - helping students catch up after missing class for a prolonged period of time - guiding students who want to prepare for their next math course ahead of time - personalized notes provided with each session My students / their parents say that I am able to explain math concepts in ways that reach students at their various levels and in a way that reduces anxieties and promotes learning. Beyond teaching mathematical concepts, I will give you / your student an understanding of what they need to master in order to be successful in future math courses and / or in their post-secondary path. My rate is $60/hour (cash or etransfer) and I serve students in Brant, Haldimand, Norfolk, and Oxford counties. I prefer to tutor in person whenever possible, especially when first meeting a new student. Additional sessions can be either in person or online depending on the students’ needs. I am willing to travel further (Waterloo, London, Hamilton and area) -- compensation for travel can be worked out on an individual basis. References / reference letters available on request.
