ABOUT YOUR TEACHER :

My name is Mankit. I am a hyper polyglot and speak 100 languages. I am also a world traveller and have visited / lived in 52 countries. For over 25 years, my structured and communicative approach has helped hundreds of students achieve a high level of conversational fluency. My language courses develop all language-related skills, including listening, speaking, reading, writing, grammar and cultural knowledge. All the photos were taken with my students in Toronto near Yonge and Bloor in February and March 2014.

LEVELS :

A1 and A2 ( Beginner and Elementary ) B1 and B1+ ( Lower Intermediate and Intermediate ) B2 and B2+ ( Upper Intermediate and Advanced ) C1 and C1+ ( Proficient and Fluent ) All levels correspond to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). CEFR evaluates language competence in listening, reading, spoken interaction, spoken production, and writing.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐FRENCH ---- "I have studied French with Mankit for just over two months and I can easily say I've learned more than I did during 6 years of French in school. We focused at first on grasping essential concepts - often things I had never been fully taught despite my years of French in school - such as the tools for pronunciation, speech inflection, and other important aspects. A lot of time in the initial lessons were also spent on un-learning (!) some of the false translations and concepts that I had learned at school, such as the usage of the tenses. Mankit taught it in a way that was much more direct and made sense in all examples that I encountered inside and outside of the class. One of the things I appreciated most about the lessons, were the emphasis on colloquialisms and common expressions in spoken French. Rather than simply focusing on conjugation and vocabulary lists, we worked on learning phrases that were very common in spoken French - but again, that were never covered in school. Without Mankit's lessons, it's very unlikely that I would have been able to learn or understand any French. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐VIETNAMESE —— "I just completed the B2+ level of Vietnamese language lessons starting at A1 four years ago. The lessons are also conducted entirely in Vietnamese from the first or second day, so there is more opportunity to practice speaking Vietnamese than one would have in other settings, for example, group classes. The lessons are supplemented with contemporary material, for example, current Vietnamese variety shows and news articles, and short films. This provides a window into contemporary Vietnamese culture and keeps the language lessons interesting and relevant. Mankit also created a special unit of instruction related to my field of work (psychiatrist, and we did our own talk show!) I have been able to make significant progress and use vocabulary and expressions specific to my profession. Mankit also travels quite a lot so after every trip he has photos to show and that is a starting point for an interesting conversation. For a working professional, I believe this kind of private language tutoring may be the only realistic way to be able to effectively study a foreign language. I have studied foreign languages in other settings (school, group classes, self-study, living in Vietnam) and I found the mixture of learning the grammar and vocabulary combined with exposure to listening and speaking was never optimal. Overall I would recommend Mankit as a language teacher because I believe his methods are sound and effective." —— Albert

PACKAGE RATES :

Option A..... Immersive. Beginner Level A1 only. Your sessions are 2 hours long, 5 sessions a week and your rate is: $34 / hour

Option B..... Your sessions are 1.5 hour or 2 hours long. Your rate is $42 / hour, if you see me up to 2 hours a week $40 / hour, if you see me up to 4 hours a week $38 / hour, if you see me over 4 hours a week

Option C..... Your sessions are 1 hour long. Your rate is: $50 / hour, no matter how many sessions you have weekly

The above options require payment for a package of 10 lessons up front.

Option D..... No package, i.e. pay-as-you-go. This is the best option for students who need help with exam preparation, translation, assignments, projects, etc: $70 / hour

Group lessons: 2nd person pays half the price of the 1st person. 3rd person pays half the price of the 2nd person. 4th person pays half the price of the 3rd person.
