I am a computer professional with over 20 years of C++ programming experience. I have been employed by such companies as Nortel Networks and Nokia Ltd. I have tutored students from BCIT, UBC, SFU, Kwantlen, Langara and Capilano Universities.

As well, I have been teaching C and C++ part-time studies courses at BCIT since 1999.

Courses I am currently teaching:

http://www.bcit.ca/study/courses/comp2617 (normally 3 semesters a year) http://www.bcit.ca/study/courses/comp2618 (normally 3 semesters a year) http://www.bcit.ca/study/courses/comp2511 (normally once a year during the summer semester)

Courses I have taught in the past:

C or C++ are excellent "first computing language" choices if you have a child that wants to learn to code and gain a strong foundation that they will be able to use for all programming courses they may take in the future. I am also currently teaching several children ages 13 and older how to program. This includes a child that is high functioning autistic.

I have a significant amount of C and C++ training materials that I have accumulated while teaching and tutoring to share with you. This includes programming exercises, quizzes, power point slides, videos, etc.

Here is a partial list of courses I am prepared to tutor:

Procedural Programming in C - BCIT ( Comp 2511 ) Procedural Programming in C - BCIT ( Comp 2510 ) Object Oriented Programming in C++ - BCIT ( Comp 3512 ) C++ For C Programmers - BCIT ( Comp 3479 ) C Programming for Electronics - BCIT ( Elex 2125 ) Introduction To Computer Programming I - SFU ( CMPT 130 ) Introduction To Computer Programming II - SFU ( CMPT 135 ) Introduction to Computing Science for Engineering Students - SFU ( CMPT 128 ) Introduction to Computer Programming I - Kwantlen ( CPSC 1100 ) Data Structures and Programming - SFU ( CMPT 225 ) Introduction to Computation in Engineering Design UBC ( APSC 160 ) Software Design and Analysis for Engineers SFU ( ENSC 251 ) Introduction To Computing Science And Programming II SFU ( CMPT 125 ) Computing Laboratory SFU ( CMPT 127 ) Computer Science for Engineers Capilano ( COMP 120 ) Program Design for Engineers Langara ( CPSC 1155 ) Algorithms and Data Structures Langara ( CPSC 1160 ) Object Oriented Program Design BCIT ( ELEX 4618 ) Introduction to Computer Programming 1 VCC ( CMPT 1010 ) Introduction to Computer Programming 2 VCC ( CMPT 1020 )

My rate for meeting in person is $35 per hour. If after we have completed our first session you are unsatisfied with the service provided, the session will be completely free.

I am also open to group lessons - 4 or less students would be preferred.

Get in touch with me by replying to this post and we can arrange a time to talk by phone or meet in person to discuss your specific needs.
