With Aro’s tutoring, your child can build the essential skills that will help them feel confident in math class. Whether you’re looking to catch up or get ahead, I’ve got you covered. Currently, I have openings for students in grades 5-9, and would be thrilled to bring your student on board!
Teaching philosophy: All are welcome! Students learn best in judgment-free spaces where they can develop their skills through relevant examples, ask questions, and - most importantly - be themselves. Many students struggle due to gaps in knowledge from foundational material in earlier grades, so my approach involves identifying and filling gaps as we go. Learning is a balance - when material is too easy or too hard, nothing is learned. I strive to keep students engaged and challenged at a realistic level so that learning can be continuous and frustration can be kept to a minimum. Finally, as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I understand that there can be particular challenges when seeking tutoring services for some students and so I will say it again: All are welcome! Be yourself!
Learning environment: All tutoring sessions will be held virtually over Google Meet with an online whiteboard, so a computer or other internet-enabled device is required. Evenings and weekends are available at a cost of $40 per hour-long session.
