Tech webcast in Barrie holding auditions for on-air talent.
- Category5 Technology TV
- Job Type
When the world returns to normal, we'll be kicking off the next era for Category5 Technology TV, and we're looking for the right person to join us.
Are you into tech such as Raspberry Pi, STEM or maker tech / soldering? Do you like Linux? Do you have a fun personality to those who know you? Do you feel you could read news stories that feature nerdy technobabble?
Category5 is an established webcast broadcasting out of Barrie, and we're looking for on-air talent.
Experience is an asset, but we are willing to train the right person if they are looking to get into broadcasting.
Please familiarize yourself with our show -- Category5 Technology TV -- before applying. We are available on all major platforms, including Roku, Kodi, YouTube and Vimeo.
Each weekly show consists of at least one feature (such as a maker demonstration) and a 24-minute news segment.
A large part of the position is reading English tech news from a teleprompter. The remainder involves interacting with the other hosts of the program, discussing various technologies, and giving tech demonstrations and tutorials.
References strongly encouraged.
Available position is about 2 hours per week, once per week (Wednesday evenings), working as an on-air personality on a fun and educational broadcast.
This is a great chance to have some fun and enjoy being a part of a global viewer community while getting some on-air experience without too much pressure.
While this is a paid position, since the hours are so low (we broadcast once per week) it should be understood to be more for experience and/or just having fun being part of a great team / show.
Apply by messaging me here on Kijiji, but make sure you include an email address to reach you at (otherwise I will reply to the one associated with your Kijiji account). Approved applicants will be scheduled for an interview with the show's producers, and those who make it through this stage will be called for an audition. Those who make it through the audition will be a part of a live broadcast, at which point the successful applicant(s) will be selected.
