Hitachi 42HDT79
42" UltraVision® CineForm™ high-definition plasma TV.
Hitachi's CineForm plasmas build on the strengths of the UltraVision models, and add performance and convenience upgrades that contribute to more enjoyable viewing. The most obvious change is the black side speakers, which enhance the overall appearance as well as the impact of the picture. The 42" 42HDT79 also includes a motorized swivel base that you can operate with the TV's remote, for convenient fine-tuning of the viewing angle from your favorite chair.
The 42HDT79 has a 40% higher pixel count than conventional 42" plasmas. The screen's 1024 x 1080 pixels can display more detail than typical models with 1024 x 768-pixel resolution. Hitachi uses ALiS (Alternate Lighting of Surfaces) screens for their 42" plasmas. This high-efficiency panel technology was developed specifically for displaying 1080i high-definition video. The walls between the screen's rows of pixels are thinner, which increases the percentage of active display area for a seamless picture with outstanding brightness, clarity and contrast.
