This property has hiking/4wheeler trails just out the front door. Great for evening walks to check out the deer and other wildlife. The Salmon River comes into Beaver Lake 1km from the dock. This river is a great place to paddle up; it stretches for approx. 2km winding through forests and marshland. You always see wildlife such as deer, beavers, muskrats, and turtles. On the next day, you can paddle down the Salmon River (approx.. 4km) to the small concrete dam where you can ride the rapids on your inner tube or just explore the shoreline for crayfish. Beaver lake is shaped like a squished horse shoe and is approx.. 6km from end to end. The lake is also good for fishing; pike, pickerel, and bass. Camp fires around the waterfront fire pit are a great way to end the day.
Tamworth is just 6km away. It offers a full grocery store, liquor / beer store, bakery, restaurant, pharmacy, shopping store, corner store, gas station, etc.. DVDs can be rented at the Beaver Lake Variety store if you want something different than the selection at the cottage.
If you have 4wheelers, Puzzle Lake Provincial Park is a great day adventure directly from the front door. This trail has many deep mud pits to try and avoid, or not.
Bon Echo Provincial Park is just up HWY 41 and offers a multitude of things to do and see, such as the native pictographs.
If you happen to have a rainy day, you can check out the wineries and interesting towns in Prince Edward County, or make a quick run into Kingston.
This cottage is only offered for 7 day stretches during the summer months. Check in is Friday after 3pm, check out is Friday before 11am.
We will require a $500 deposit, at booking, that will be returned at the end of your stay assuming no damage to the cottage was done.
